I help clients with complicated, high-stakes disputes starting from complaint to final appeal. I have represented clients from state court all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

As a former deputy solicitor general of the State of Florida, I have particular expertise in government and regulatory issues. I represented Florida in a tax dispute involving more than $1 billion in potential refunds, a dispute with another state before the U.S. Supreme Court, a Florida Supreme Court case over whether slot machines could operate state-wide, and in leading a coalition of almost half the states in a lawsuit against the EPA. In addition to my work for the government, I have also represented regulated entities and individuals. I have practiced in many other areas, including class actions, product liability, lawyers' professional liability, and False Claims Act cases, to name a few. Regardless whom I represent or the kind of case, I bring hard work, attention to detail, and a focus on representing client interests efficiently and effectively.

I have enjoyed notable success in my appellate practice. In addition to the U.S. Supreme Court, I have appeared in several U.S. Courts of Appeals and across the state of Florida. A brief I wrote for the State of Florida for the U.S. Supreme Court was selected by the National Association of Attorneys General as among the best filed by any state in 2017. Each of the three times I argued before the Florida Supreme Court, the Court decided unanimously in my client's favor. As a result of the success of my appellate practice, I have been invited to deliver lectures to appellate practitioners about varied topics, including practicing before the Florida Supreme Court. One of Florida's appellate courts also invited me give a presentation to its judges.

While my most rewarding feedback comes from clients, my peers have also recognized my work:

  • The National Association of Attorneys General recognized my first U.S. Supreme Court brief as among the best filed by any state in 2017.

  • Miami's Daily Business Review recognized me as among young Florida attorneys "On the Rise" in 2018.

  • Super Lawyers twice recognized me as a Rising Star. in the Washington, D.C. market.

I began my career as a law clerk to Judge E. Grady Jolly of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Jackson, Mississippi and Judge Lee H. Rosenthal of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. After that, I practiced for Williams & Connolly, LLP, a prominent litigation firm in Washington, D.C. I received my J.D. from Duke University School of Law and an A.B. in religion from Princeton University.
